Hiking at Pedernales Falls

Pedernales Falls State Park is an easy drive from Austin near Spicewood and Dripping Springs. The park is 5211 acres and surrounds the beautiful Pedernales River. It offers many activities for the outdoor enthusiast including bird-watching, swimming, camping, fishing, horseback riding, mountain biking and hiking. Pedernales Falls are the highlight of the park, they are 50 feet of clear water tumbling down gradually descending limestone.

Getting to the falls is not difficult. Park at the Pedernales Falls Trail system and it is a short walk to the Pedernales Falls Overlook. Nature lovers enjoy the majestic view from this point.
